Create a project folder
|
A good idea when you start a project is to create a
specific folder onto your hardisk. It is not really
necessary but it will help you to organize your different
music projects later, sessions after sessions.
|
Create a new folder and name it "tutorial".
From the MODULARING/MODULES folder duplicate a "Seq Analog
x16" and a "Duosonic Synth" into the tutorial folder.
Rename the "Seq Analog x16" in "BASS SEQ" and a "Duosonic
Synth" in "BASS SYNTH". It will help you to retrieve modules later in
your patch.
Launch the two applications. The AudioMixer module will be
automatically opened, as a synh is launched. Arrange windows to see
the two modules.
note: See in the LCD the module name reflecting the current
application name (same as on desktop).
Connect the OUT of BASS SEQ to the IN of the BASS SYNTH.
direct with drag and drop :
with a popu-up menu :
|
Move the mouse over the OUT jack,
when highlighted, click to get the popup menu,
release the mouse onto the destination module.
Click again in the jack to check with the current
setup:
- an arrow seems a connection exists.
- a hole seems no connection.
|
Set the BASS SEQUENCER parameters
Inside the BASS SEQ module:
|
press the PLAY button to start sequencer.
set the mutiplier on x4 for double note (each step
is a quater note, a cycle is equal to 1 bar 4/4 when 16
steps).
set the pitch, velocity and gate for each steps,
or press the random button to get a random sequence.
|
give a name to the current memory
|
|
|
click with the mouse inside the LCD.
give a name for this patch ie: "my 1st sequence".
type "return" or "enter" key to valid your entry.
The name for the current memory will appear in the LCD.
|
note: in the LCD the format is APPLICATION_NAME : memory_name for
all modularing applications.
Set the BASS SYNTH parameters
Inside the BASS SYNTH module:
adjust volume and synth parameters for a bass sound.
give a appropriate name to the sound.
Save your job
From any modularing front application:
|
Select the popup menu under the modularing name.
Release mouse on "Maker" menu will launch the
modularing STUDIO Maker inside the TOOLS folder. During a
short period a window message will appear with "Please
wait... Data collection is running".
Give a name to your preset like "bassline.mag" and
save it into the tutorial folder or anywhere on your
hardisk.
|
|
A modularing document in the .mag format (for multimedia
application glue) will appear into the destination folder.
This single file contains all informations of the current
studio setup.
Double-clic on this file to build, connect and load a full
modularing studio setup at anytime.
|
Close your studio
From any modularing front application:
Select the modularing popup menu.
Release mouse on "Closer" menu to launch the modularing
STUDIO Closer inside the TOOLS folder, or directly double-click on
the STUDIO Closer tool to turn all the studio off, all the modularing
applications will quit one by one.
